Momentum’s New Lobby (Including Pics!)

We’re updating the lobby!

We think God wants this building to be used to serve people from the community and to build deeper connections with the people of Momentum. We already invite a TON of people into this space for the Back-to-School Fest, Pics with Santa, Easter Eggstravaganza, Rigs & Coffee, Amplify student ministry, weddings, memorial services, voting, and more. We hope this update will make our building an even better space for serving others in our surrounding neighborhoods.

Over the last several years, the main doors have been falling apart and the carpet has been looking pretty shabby. We’ve repainted several times. We need more storage. Our Lead Minister could use an office. Bottom line: we’re way overdue for an update!

Updates: The new lobby will have more windows and be filled with more natural light from the outside. Entering the building will be less intimidating for newcomers who will be able to see inside when they park or walk toward the entrance. On nice days, the full view aluminum garage door can be opened for fresh air, and we can grill out on the patio. The new carpet (which will go all the way up the ramp to the entrance of the auditorium) can be replaced square by square when it’s damaged. A live feed of the service will be playing above the fireplace. We’re adding a storage closet. The current “Starting Point” room will become an office for our Lead Minister, Dan Smith. The doors exiting the building near the MoKids check-in will be replaced. Momentum’s mission statement will be printed on the walls: “Love God. Love People. Make disciples who make disciples.”

Timeline: The renovations will begin in late-August and should be done in mid- to late-September 2023. (Sunday worship services will not be interrupted by the construction.)

Giving: If you would like to help with the costs, you can give money to Momentum’s “General” fund. Thank you for your generosity!

Images: As you check out the images of the new lobby, pray that God will use it to make a positive impact on people in our community!
